I really want to wear ethical and environmentally friendly clothing, but trying to find clothing that is affordable as well as nice looking is a challenge.
Green clothing can be expensive, it is always alluring to find a top for £3 in a shop with no ethics and it having being mass produced and being tempted to purchase it...
So with this post I thought I would share my wisdom as to affordable green clothing outlets that look funky.
The following websites have some cool tops and have been produced with ethics and the environment in mind:
Granted you will probably never find an ethically and environmentally friendly made top for £3 brand new from a shop, however if you don't mind trawling through a charity shop every now and again some amazing environmentally friendly bargains can be found!!
Charity Shops
Charity shops or thrift shops as they are sometimes called have unfairly been given a lot of bad press. Yes, these clothes may have been worn before, and yes, not all the clothes in the shop are that nice looking. But look closely and you can find some rather nice clothes in good condition (sometimes never been worn with tags) and may even find a piece that you rather quite the look of. Not to mention it being a fraction of the price than if you found it in its original shop! All it takes is a bit of searching. Even then most of the shops have conveniently gathered all the clothes in your size into one place! If you are handy with a sewing machine you can also transform any garment you find into an amazing unique piece :-)
