Jumper Cushion

I found a jumper in the charity shop that looked a bit sorry for its self, but it was made of this really soft cashmere material - I couldn't resist it -  It wasn't something that fitted me and not something that I would usually where, so I just had to make it into a cushion!  This is a great way to keep those lovely jumpers that no longer fit or you have for sentimental reasons :-)

What you will need:
  • Old jumper with nice fabric
  • Polyester filling
  • Pins
  • Needle
  • Thread
  • Sewing machine

Method
  1. I turned the jumper inside out
  2. I drew a square onto the back of it using a template.
  3. Then I pinned the 2 halves of the jumper together and cut the square out.
  4. Then I tacked the square with needle and thread
  5. I took the pins out and sewed around the edge leaving about a 5cm gap on one of the edges
  6. I then turned the cushion the right way around
  7. Filled it with Polyester filling I had going spare then hand sewed up the gap I had left.

I decided to decorate my cushion with a felt flower - see my felt flower post for how this was done :-)
